Repeat Prescriptions

All requests for prescriptions must be in writing as this reduces the risk of errors.

If you are taking regular medication you will be issued with a repeat prescription form.

You can order your repeat prescription in the following ways:

  • Via our Online Services;
  • Post;
  • Hand deliver to the surgery;
  • Fax to the surgery;
  • or email to toddington.prescriptions@nhs.net (PLEASE NOTE: Please do not use this email address for prescription queries as this is an automated system and your query will not be actioned. For prescription queries please contact the Surgery by telephone after 10.30 am. Emails may not be secure and are therefore sent at the patients own risk).

Please allow 2 full working days for your prescription to be processed.

You may collect your medication and repeat prescription form directly from the chemist in Toddington. However, the chemist requests that you allow another 24 hours for your medicines to be ready for collection.

If you prefer, your prescription can be collected from the surgery during normal opening hours or returned to you by post if you provide a stamped addressed envelope. Please indicate your preference on the repeat prescription form.

Patients on repeat prescriptions will be invited for annual reviews of their medication.

Repeat Dispensing

Repeat dispensing is the process by which patients can obtain supplies of their repeat medicines over a defined period of time from a pharmacy of their choice, without the need to contact their GP practice on each occasion a new supple is needed.

Currently this service is only available from GP Practices and Community Pharmacies that have been trained to provide the service.

Certain medications will be unsuitable for this process such as antidepressants and morphine, where regular review is required.
